Post-Dispatch columnist Sylvester Brown offers his take on the Annie Malone parade's proposed move from north St. Louis in today's edition of the paper. Click here to read it.
Technically not. "This historic neighborhood (The Ville) is bounded by St. Louis Avenue on the North, Martin Luther King drive on the South, Sarah on the East and Taylor on the West."

In other words, The Ville stops short of Natural Bridge. But my question was whether the parade had previously been on a different street than Natural Bridge more in the heart of The Ville?
We can argue all day about whether The Ville and The Greater Ville are the same neighborhood. But to answer your question; Yes, the parade route has changed before. But it has always been in the same neighborhood.
As a matter of fact, the Annie Malone organization used to be on Natural Bridge before it was renamed:
"The St. Louis colored Orphan's Home moved to the Ville from Natural Bridge Road in 1922 thanks to a large gift from Annie Malone. The Home was later renamed the Annie Malone Children's' Home."

In the history of the parade, did it not already move from The Ville to Natural Bridge?
