As you've said before, it's the third party in St. Louis-- white Republicans who vote for white Democrats. It should then be of little surprise then that a City Republican would pretend to be a Democrat in order to get elected.
That's because it's now fashionable to be fiscally conservative yet still a Democrat if socially liberal. But if you're socially conservative, don't dare try to be a Democrat, no matter what your fiscal policies.
