PUB DEF EXCLUSIVE
The race for two seats on the St. Louis Board of Education will be decided on Tuesday, April 4. The candidates are School Board Pres. Darnetta Clinkscale and appointed board member James Buford, parents Peter Downs and Donna Jones, and independent candidate Joe Clark.
PUB DEF is pleased to present a Video Voter Guide for this important election.
A few weeks ago, the candidates appeared at a forum in the 1st Ward. Our camera was there to record their answers to questions submitted by residents of the ward. We now present to our readers the answers to three of those important questions.
See it all at www.pubdefweekly.com/cityschools
This version of PUB DEF's Video Voter Guide is still a Beta, so feedback is requested and greatly appreciated.

It's an easy choice on Tuesday. Vote Clinkscale and Buford, if you want to move forward and enable Williams to continue reforming our schools and improving education. Or vote Downs and Jones if you want to return to the past, empower the teachers' union, reopen closed schools and make Purdy once again Board President.

I can't wait to see how Veronica O'Brien is described if she decides to run again. She is a parent, she is a city resident, she has school age child(ren), but she doesn't send to St. Louis Public Schools. Hmm.

It's an easy choice on Tuesday. Vote Clinkscale and Buford if you want to return to the past, put short pants on the teachers, keep neighborhood schools closed, and keep Slay's people in power. Or vote Downs and Jones if you believe City parents deserve a voice on the Board of Ed.

How come no one gets hot and bothered about Joe Clark?
This town is so fucking predictable and polarized.

Sorry, but the school board works with Williams, not Slay. So, I don't buy your argument of this election as a referendum on Slay.
